High-platforms
The high-platforms have a ramp on at least one side. Whilst high-platforms are compulsory for all newly built tram stops the older tram stops are still in the process of being converted. There are currently 131 high-platform tram stops.
Silver trams (TW 2000)
The door openings of these üstra trams are 1.30 metres wide. Electrically or manually operated wheelchairs can enter the trams without any problems. Between the first door and the second there is always an area with tip-up seats where wheelchair-users can find a place without difficulty.
Green trams (TW6000)
Unfortunately the green üstra trams are not suitable for all wheelchairs. There is a step between the edge of the platform and the vehicle, which cannot be cleared by some types of wheelchair.
In order to facilitate access for wheelchairs and prams, the centre pole at the third tram door in many green trams has been removed. Such trams are indicated by the orange stripes over these doors as well as at the front of the vehicle.
