SemesterCard: The SemesterCard is especially fit for students. With the SemesterCard you can use all light rails, trams, buses and DB Regio trains in the Greater Hannover Transport region.

The SemesterCard is sent to you, together with your certificate of matriculation. It is valid for the duration of an entire semester (six months), including the lecture-free times.

Students of the following Colleges and Universities receive SemesterCards:

• Leibniz Universität Hannover
• Hochschule Hannover (HsH)
• Medizinische Hochschule Hannover
• Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover
• Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover
• Fachhochschule für die Wirtschaft, Hannover
• Fachhochschlue des Mittelstands, Hannover
• GISMA Business School

The SemesterCard will not cost additional money - it is included in the semester-fee.
Your SemesterCard is not transferable and only valid together with your identity card or a passport. Foreign students need a certified photocopy of their passport with a recognisable photo.
In case you cannot present your passport or identity card when tickets are checked, you will be fined with 40 Euros. If you have your identification with you but do not carry your SemesterCard, you will be fined with 7 Euros.
