Travelling with wheelchairs, walking frames or children's push chairs

The buses and trams of the GVH can be used by everyone – as well by persons travelling with wheelchairs, walking frames or children's push chairs. At the ÜSTRA tram lines there are accessible high-level platforms nearly everywhere. The underground stations are accessible with elevators. Almost all buses are low-floor buses or equipped with ramps. In the suburban trains, special train sections are reserved for wheelchairs and children's push chairs. Passengers can practice during mobility trainings entering and leaving directly on the vehicle. And in case that passengers with impaired mobility need special assistance, they can take advantage of the ÜSTRA companionship service.

You want to be sure that the bus has a ramp? You would like to take a taxi for the last few meters home? You feel unsure about entering the city tram? For passengers with restricted mobility, the GVH offers a great range of services.

Vehicle's equipment

You need a ramp for entering the vehicle? You want to "park" your children's push chair safely? The GVH buses and trams offer space, are well-equipped and are continuously adapted to the needs of our passengers.

Travelling with hearing loss

People with hearing problems get orientation by seeing. For this reason the GVH presents all information in texts and pictures.

Travelling with impaired sight

Whether tactile guidance strips or announcements in the vehicles: Visually impaired persons are being well assisted on journeys within the GVH tariff area.
