Free use of local transport for Ukrainian refugees expires
Free of charge until 31 May
From 1 March there was a nationwide free public transportation for Ukrainian refugees. The GVH and its transport companies as well participated in the action and showed its solidarity with the people who had to leave their homes. The measure expires by 31 May. This was resolved by the Executive Committee of the VDV (Association of German Transport Companies) recently.
The GVH joins this action. The VDV statement declares that the Federal Government has implemented many measures in the past few weeks to support Ukrainian refugees within the scope of basic social services, entering into force from 01.06.2022.
Furthermore, the 9-Euro-Ticket, available from 1 June, offers a quite well-priced opportunity to use the public transport not only regionally but also throughout Germany.
